Anxiety Therapy in San Diego, CA

Anxiety is a smoke alarm that goes off when you’re just making toast.

It might be a stomach ache before school, a group chat you can’t stop rereading, or a “fine” that doesn’t match what’s going on inside. Maybe you’re the one who holds everyone together, and you’re lying awake running through everything that could go wrong. Or you’re a parent who can see your teen struggling and isn’t sure how to help.

Here are some reasons you could benefit from anxiety therapy

  • Your mind races, even when nothing is actually wrong
  • You replay conversations and worry about what people think of you
  • You say yes when you mean no, then feel guilty either way
  • You’re avoiding things (school, social plans, hard conversations) because they feel like too much
  • Your sleep, stomach, or energy are taking the hit

Anxiety Therapy in San Diego Can Help

Anxiety isn’t a flaw, and you’re not being dramatic. It’s a brain trying to protect you and overdoing the job. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through every day. Change is possible, and I can help you tell the difference between a real alarm and a false one.

Benefits of Anxiety Therapy

  • A quieter mind, especially at night
  • Less bracing for things that aren’t coming
  • Recovering faster from big feelings
  • Saying no without the guilt spiral
  • Tools that actually work for you, instead of generic advice that doesn’t stick

My Approach to Anxiety Therapy

Getting curious and getting to know your nervous system. Before we try to fix anything, we learn how your nervous system works. Where does anxiety show up in your body? What sets it off? What is it afraid will happen? Most people have never been asked, and the answers shape everything we do next.

Building tools that fit your real life. We practice mindfulness tools together in session so they’re ready when you need them: in the middle of a stressful day, in a hallway, or at 2 a.m. when your mind won’t quiet down.

Going deeper when it’s needed. Sometimes anxiety is driven by something older, like an experience your brain never finished processing. That’s where EMDR therapy comes in.

Keeping it from feeling like an interview. With younger clients, I use play-based approaches so therapy isn’t just answering questions. Parents are welcome to be part of the process, as much or as little as feels right.

Sessions are virtual, in English or Spanish. I’d love to help, so reach out and let’s talk.
